Arsenal transfer news LIVE – Mikel Merino signed, Eddie Nketiah medical, Victor Osimhen boost

The £34million move for Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino is moving closer with the final details of his transfer all but completed and sources have confirmed to football.london that they expect Merino’s arrival to be confirmed very soon.

Arsenal continue to be linked with players, which is likely to be the case right up until Friday’s deadline. Kingsley Coman is one of the latest, with reports suggesting the France winger is keen to leave Bayern Munich for the Premier League.

There continues to be speculation about the future of Aaron Ramsdale and Eddie Nketiah, with the goalkeeper looking likely to leave on loan, while Nketiah is subject to an offer worth £25million-plus from Crystal Palace. But overseas sides are still believed to be interested in the striker.

Ramsdale deal off

Wolves have been priced out of a move to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal before the end of the summer, according to BBC Sport.

It’s said that the overall package is too expensive and a potential move for Ramsdale to Molineux is now considered off.

Nketiah alternative

Nottingham Forest are planning a move for Ajax forward Brian Brobbey after missing out on PSV’s Santiago Gimenez and Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, according to Football Insider.

Forest were hoping to bring Gimenez and Nketiah to The City Ground, but both proposed transfers have collapsed, leaving them to look at alternatives.

Brobbey, who was linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, is the man they are targeting, with Gimenez set to stay at PSV and Nketiah now on his way to Crystal Palace.

Nketiah agreement

Crystal Palace have now agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign Eddie Nketiah, according to Fabrizio Romano. A fee of £25million plus £5m in add-ons is in place for the 25-year-old to move to Selhurst Park.

Nketiah is now set to complete his medical before completing a switch to Palace. He is expected to sign a long-term contract.

Osimhen boost

Paris Saint-Germain are not working on a deal to sign Arsenal target Victor Osimhen from Napoli, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 25-year-old is expected to leave Napoli before the end of the transfer window and has interest from across Europe, with Arsenal and Chelsea among his other suitors.

Merino signed

Mikel Merino has signed his four-year contract at Arsenal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 28-year-old has been in London over the past couple of days to finalise his £28.4million plus £4.2m in add-ons move to the Gunners.

There has been no official announce as of yet, but Merino is expected to be confirmed in time to feature for the Gunners against Brighton on Saturday. He hasn’t featured for Real Sociedad this season.

Jakub Kiwior is expected to stay at Arsenal after the transfer window closes on Friday, according to CBS Sports. The Poland international has been subject to interest from several Serie A clubs but no deal has been lined up.
