Arsenal transfer news LIVE – Neto agreement, Anthony Gordon talks, new Garcia bid on deadline day

Arsenal have signed two new players this summer, with Italian centre-back Riccardo Calafiori and Spanish midfielder Mikel Merino the only new faces. But not many more additions will be needed for Mikel Arteta‘s team on the evidence of their opening two Premier League games of the new season. The Gunners have swept Wolves and Aston Villa aside impressively as they chase a first top-flight title since 2004.

Nevertheless, more signings may give Arteta’s side even greater strength in what is set to be another tight title race with Manchester City. Among the players being linked are Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon, Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling and Bayern Munich forward Kingsley Coman.

There is also an imminent deal for Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto on a season-long loan. He is likely to come in after Joan Garcia proved too expensive to buy this late on.

Stay tuned throughout deadline day as our team of reporters brings you all the latest transfer news, views and rumours from north London.

Neto agreement

This one happened overnight.

Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto on a season-long loan.

The Brazilian is set to undergo a medical today before completing a move.

The deal came about after Joan Garcia proved ungettable so late on in the window.

The Atheltic add that Arsenal want to get in at least another goalkeeper, ideally with experience and homegrown status, hence the look at Dan Bentley and Sam Tickle.
