Arsenal transfer rumours: Raheem Sterling talks, Dominic Calvert-Lewin interest, Victor Osimhen update
Arsenal have been linked with a transfer for Raheem Sterling in the final few days of the summer transfer window.
The winger appears to be set for an exit from Chelsea, as the Blues look to move him on before the deadline passes.
While uncertainty surrounds the England international, it seems as though a Premier League rival of the Gunners has jumped to the front of the queue for his signature.
That’s because, according to The Telegraph, Manchester United have opened talks with Chelsea to sign Raheem Sterling on a permanent transfer.
The deal is likely to include a move for Jadon Sancho in the opposite direction, though plenty of work will have to be done for a swap to go through.
Not least a conclusion surrounding Sterling’s contract, which is claimed to be in excess of £300,000-per-week.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will also open talks to add another wide option to the squad for the season.
Victor Osimhen update
Arsenal have also been in the race to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer as a potential centre-forward option.
The Nigerian international looks set to leave the Azzurri this summer, despite his goal-scoring prowess with the club.
That may open up the door for the Gunners, however, the latest update from Fabrizio Romano may well rule them out of the race.
According to the transfer guru, only Chelsea and Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli are in talks to sign Osimhen this summer.
PSG have been linked, but aren’t in the conversation, while Arsenal haven’t been mentioned as a possible destination.
It may come as a slight blow, though the Gunners still have time to make an offer if they wish to secure the striker.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin interest
Another striker seemingly on the radar at Arsenal this summer is Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
That’s according to CaughtOffside, which reports that the Emirates Stadium outfit are monitoring a potential deal for the 27-year-old in the final days of the market.
It comes as Calvert-Lewin’s future at Goodison Park appears uncertain, following links with a switch to Newcastle earlier in the window.
London rivals Chelsea are also claimed to be in the mix for the Everton star’s signature if a move is made.
The Toffees are claimed to be under pressure to sell if the right offer for the striker comes in, though it is unclear how much that could be.
