Aston Villa team news vs Arsenal confirmed as Unai Emery names starting XI

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has named his starting XI to take on Arsenal in the Premier League this evening.

He has chosen to name an unchanged line-up after beating West Ham on the opening weekend. Ollie Watkins starts from the off with Morgan Rogers, John McGinn and Leon Bailey playing in support of him.

Amadou Onana – who scored on his debut last weekend – starts with compatriot Youri Tielemans in the double pivot as Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres and Lucas Digne play in defence with Emi Martinez in goal.
Unai Emery’s side beat West Ham at the London Stadium last weekend and are looking to win their opening two Premier League matches in a season for a fourth time, also doing so in 1995-96, 1999-00 and 2020-21.

Opponents Arsenal claimed a 2-0 victory over Wolves on the opening weekend and face Villa having won 14 away Premier League games at Villa Park, which is their joint most at a single away venue in the Premier League. Villa, however, will take confidence from doing the double over Arsenal last season, without even conceding a goal.

Villa XI: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Pau, Digne, Onana, Tielemans, Bailey, McGinn, Rogers, Watkins.
