Declan Rice has made it abundantly clear how badly he wants to win the Premier League with Arsenal in a new admission.
The former West Ham United captain made North London home last summer and hasn’t looked back since.
Very quickly, the £105m fee that Arsenal paid to acquire the midfielder became background noise as Rice has fitted into Mikel Arteta’s system with ease.
It’s difficult to predict where the Gunners would have finished last season without the England international in midfield, with his arrival bolstering Arsenal’s claim to the Premier League title.

Last week, Rice was named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for the first time in his career, joining four of his Arsenal teammates in the dazzling XI.
Prior to attending the awards ceremony, the Englishman was quizzed by a young reporter on whether he would accept one life-changing deal to win the league with the Gunners.
It was a humorous exchange, as Rice was asked by the youngster whether he’d eat plain rice for the rest of his life in order to be crowned a Premier League champion.
The midfielder’s response was clear, confirming that he would indeed eat rice for the rest of his days for a medal.
“I’ll do it. The Premier League’s the dream, you know you want to win the Premier League, not everyone gets to win the Premier League so yeah why not take that deal?”

Fortunately, it seems unlikely that Rice will have to change his diet in order to win the Premier League, as Arsenal continue to push to usurp Manchester City.
The Gunners have started the 2024/25 campaign in impressive fashion, overcoming the test of collecting three points from Villa Park most recently.
Arsenal were far from at their best against Aston Villa however, Arteta’s squad found a way to win comfortably in the end, showing the resilience of champions so early into the campaign.
There’s a long way to go, as well as the understanding that perfection must be achieved to ruin City’s plans of claiming their fifth-consecutive title in May.
A lot of Arsenal’s chances could ride on the work that Arteta and Edu carry out before deadline day, adding emphasis to the importance that the week ahead holds.
