Edu Gaspar now wants to sign ‘world class’ £50m forward more than any other player for Arsenal
Arsenal have now sealed the signing of their second addition in this summer’s transfer window on Tuesday afternoon.
Mikel Arteta will be delighted to finally see the signing of Riccardo Calafiori added to with negotiations for Mikel Merino dragging on for weeks.
But Arsenal have finally got their man through the doors with just a matter of days now remaining in the transfer window.
Merino has even had the opportunity to speak with his new Arsenal teammates with the player’s medical having been completed over the weekend.
But the truth is, despite Arsenal being very particular about the signings they have made this summer, there is still room for more.
Arsenal are now believed to be in the market to add a forward but the calibre of player attainable at this stage in the market is questionable.
Arsenal still have ‘world class’ forward as their transfer priority
Arsenal did not require a busy transfer window having only finished a matter of two points off winning the league.
However, the Gunners have added to areas which they were perhaps already at their strongest.
A new striker could be a possibility with Arsenal having been linked with a move for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen this summer.
However, there is another ‘world class‘ forward from Europe who Arteta and Edu Gaspar would love to see come through the doors ahead of Friday’s deadline.
According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal still have Nico Williams as their top priority for the remainder of the window.
Any late move for the Athletic Bilbao winger would be a hugely optimistic feat with the winger having now settled back with his club after the Euros.
Arsenal are not the only side to be eyeing a potential move for Williams with most of Europe having taken a look at the 22-year-old.
Even Tottenham Hotspur were interested in signing Williams.

Another forward would be really beneficial for Arsenal with Arteta already having to deal with injury issues up top.
Gabriel Jesus has sustained an injury which kept him out of Arsenal’s victory on the weekend against Aston Villa.
There were already question marks surrounding the returns which the Brazilian provided last season and his injury has not helped his case.
However, landing a player like Williams – who is wanted across Europe – would send a real statement of intent out to Manchester City who have, themselves, not done a great deal in the window.
Valued at around £50m, Williams would not be an easy deal to pull off, however, it is a deal which could well propel Arsenal to their first title in two decades.
