Edu is pushing to sign Brazilian wonderkid at Arsenal as Kai Havertz injury truth revealed
Recent concerns have been sparked over the fitness of Arsenal star Kai Havertz in the past week, following a fresh injury update.
The forward played the whole game against Southampton, but shortly after had to withdraw from the Germany squad for the international break.
The official statement from the national team revealed an injury problem, which has later been pinpointed as a knee issue.
Fortunately for Arsenal, the injury doesn’t appear to be a huge problem and the star centre-forward should be back in time for the next set of fixtures.
As revealed by The Sun, Havertz: “Has been managing a minor knee issue since the end of last season – something that he carried over into the Euros.”
It comes as a huge surprise that Havertz has been playing through injury, especially given his impressive form.
Arsenal eye Vitor Reis transfer
Arsenal are stepping up the chase to sign Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Reis in the coming months of the transfer window.
The Gunners have previously been linked with the 18-year-old, who is a first-team centre-back at a young age.
They aren’t alone though, as Real Madrid and Liverpool have also been rumoured with a possible switch for the star.
According to recent reports, Edu Gaspar is now pushing to sign Reis in 2025 ahead of their rivals in the market.
Journalist Ben Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “Edu, in particular, has been on Reis for quite some time, and is driving this one.
“Of course, Mikel Arteta is involved, but we’re not yet at the stage where, like the club, from Arsenal’s perspective, has pitched or the manager needs to get terribly involved.
“But Edu, in particular, has made a point of leading this chase, if you like, and Real are there as well and Chelsea just wants all of the top talents from South America.”
