Tommy Setford is one of the latest Arsenal prospects looking to make his way into the first-team setup in the next few years.

Mikel Arteta named the goalkeeper in several squads following the sale of Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton in the 2024 summer transfer window.

That was the window in which Arsenal signed Setford from Ajax, looking to turn the youngster into one of their next big stars.

Despite being born in the Netherlands, the shot-stopper has already represented England during their youth ranks and will be hopeful of making the senior team one day.

Setford was born on March 13, 2006, which makes him 18 years old at the time of writing and at the beginning of his goalkeeping career.

The youngster came through the Ajax academy before he made his way to Arsenal, where he has been part of the Hale End setup as well as the first-team bench.

Born in Haarlem in the Netherlands, Setford has Dutch citizenship but also qualifies for British citizenship through his father.

With that dual citizenship in mind, the goalkeeper has regularly played for the England youth ranks, from under-16s to under-19s level.

Arsenal paid Ajax roughly £840,000 to sign Setford in July 2024, with hopes that the youngster will become a first-team option in the future.

The youngster is expected to be the third choice for the 2024/25 season, behind David Raya and Neto for the campaign.
