‘I don’t really care’… Bukayo Saka hits back at critics in bold promise before Man City vs Arsenal
Bukayo Saka has provided an insight into how Arsenal will approach their upcoming clash with Manchester City.
Arsenal will travel to take on Manchester City in a Premier League encounter on Sunday afternoon.
The victor of this match will end the weekend at the summit of the Premier League table.
Mikel Arteta’s side were able to take four points off Manchester City last season. However, the Gunners still ultimately finished as runners up behind Pep Guardiola’s side in the title race.
When the North London club last travelled to the Etihad Stadium, back in March, they managed to grind out a 0-0 draw. However, it would be fair to say that the Gunners were particularly defensive in that match, and rarely threatened to snatch a winner of their own.
Bukayo Saka discusses Arsenal plan for Manchester City
The Gunners will have to be solid at the back once again this afternoon if they are to stand a chance of securing a positive result in the North West.
Bukayo Saka has now spoken out about how Arsenal will set up for this match, after the North London club were criticised by some for their perceived negativity in this fixture last season.
As quoted by the Independent, responding to this criticism, the Hale End academy graduate said: “To be honest, I don’t really care.”
Saka then added: “We know what we believed, we know what we went there to achieve. Only we know the real truth. We went there to win and we are going to do that again this Sunday.”
What Arsenal need to do against Manchester City
Arteta will be well aware of the threat that the Cityzens pose, and will be relying upon his defensive contingent to keep Erling Haaland and co. at bay. David Raya has been in exceptional form of late, and the goalkeeper will need to maintain his impressive run of performances on Sunday.
At the other end of the pitch, Arteta will be relying upon Saka to make a difference, particularly in the absence of injured club captain Martin Odegaard.
Arsenal will struggle to establish control of the match without the Norwegian playmaker, who is also responsible for orchestrating his team’s press. Saka will have to step up in his absence.
