Three forward options Arsenal could pursue with Gunners ‘on red alert’ for a signing in final 48 hours

Arsenal are reportedly not finished in the summer, despite there being less than 48 hours remaining in the summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have made two key additions to their squad this summer as the Gunners hope to finally win their first Premier League title since the invincible campaign of 2004.

Arsenal completed the signing of Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna with the Italian defender set to play a key role for the Gunners. Earlier this week, Arsenal also signed Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad for a fee in the region of £32 million.

A winger could be a possibility for Arsenal according to a report from The Mirror with the Gunners on ‘red alert’ to see who they could make a move for.

Here are three options Arsenal could pursue in the final 48 hours of the window.

Kingsley Coman – Bayern Munich

Back in June, Arsenal were offered the chance to sign French winger Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich and he remains an option for the North London club.

Another side who are keen on Coman is Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal but according to Fabrizio Romano, the French winger has yet to accept the club’s proposal and a transfer could well still be on the cards.

Last season for Bayern, Coman made just 17 Bundesliga appearances for the Bavarian side with three goals and three assists to his name and he could be an interesting, and cheap, option.

Leroy Sane – Bayern Munich

Another option from Bayern is former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane, who has just one year remaining on his deal with the Bavarian side.

Sane can play on both the left-hand side and the right-hand side and he could be an interesting option for the Gunners as a backup for Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka. Sane has also been complimentary of Arsenal in the past.

The German winger was a brilliant success for City, winning two Premier League titles, and he is certainly a goalscoring threat and has continued to prove that in Bavaria. He could be available for a decent price.

In 158 games for Bayern, Sane has scored 48 times and provided 50 assists, he’d be a great option for the Gunners.

Johan Bakayoko – PSV

The third and final option is more of a left-field one in the shape of PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko, whose contract is set to expire in the summer of 2026.

Bakayoko, who has been linked to Liverpool, is predominantly more of a right-winger rather than a left-winger but he would certainly be a brilliant attacking option and one who could develop with the North London stuff.

Last season in the Eredivisie, Bakayoko scored 12 times and provided nine assists during his campaign in the Dutch League and has added a further two goals this season already.
