William Saliba suggests one Arsenal player’s left foot is even better than Bukayo Saka’s

Arsenal have quite a few left-footed players in their squad.

It’s always hard to find the right balance between right and left-footed players, but luckily for Mikel Arteta, he has recruited really well.

Their main man Bukayo Saka is one of the best left-footed players in the world, while the likes of Mikel Merino, Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Magalhaes among others are all left-footed as well.

However, William Saliba believes there’s another player at Arsenal whose left foot is better than all of the players mentioned above.

William Saliba says Martin Odegaard is Arsenal’s best player at two things

Martin Odegaard is one of Arsenal’s most important players.

The Norway international joined the Gunners from Real Madrid, initially on a loan deal but that move was made permanent in the following summer.

Odegaard has since been magnificent under Arteta, and his absence has been deeply felt over the last week following his nasty ankle injury.

Saliba knows a thing or two about great players having rubbed shoulders with superstars at club level as well as with the France national team.

The defender was asked to build his ultimate Arsenal player by Canal Plus, by picking one Gunners star – past or present – for each attribute like right foot, left foot, speed, dribbling, vision, shooting and defending.

For left foot, just as we thought he was about to name Saka, Saliba chose Martin Odegaard. He chose the Norwegian for having the best vision too, which isn’t too much of a surprise.

Saka has a phenomenal left foot, but Saliba picking Odegaard tells us that the Arsenal captain has the best left foot at the club.

What Norway are thinking about Odegaard after his injury

Odegaard suffered a terrible ankle injury while on international duty with Norway in their game against Austria earlier in September.

The Norwegian is expected to be out for about a month now, and that is a huge blow for the Gunners, who have been without him for three games already.

There’s another international break coming up in October, and just when every Arsenal fan was starting to think about potentially having Odegaard back, Norway are thinking of doing something crazy.

Ben Jacobs has revealed on GiveMeSport that Norway haven’t totally ruled out the possibility of calling up Odegaard for their games in November.

That is absolutely ridiculous. Arsenal should block Odegaard from leaving the club in the October international break even if he makes a full recover by then.
