Legendary Linebacker Unloads on Lamar: Six-Time Pro Bowler Delivers Scathing Review of Ravens’ QB
Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson will look to make his holiday season extra memorable as they take on the Houston Texans on Christmas Day.
Jackson is expected to team up anew with star running back Derrick Henry to spearhead the Ravens’ charged-up offense and stay in contention for the AFC North title.
The 27-year-old Jackson has been exceptional all season, with many believing he should win his second straight MVP plum. Some, however, have been campaigning for Buffalo Bills star quarterback Josh Allen to win it.
Former NFL star LeSean McCoy isn’t one of them.
While the Fox Sports analyst, who played for the Bills, didn’t outright say he’s picking Jackson as this season’s MVP, he stressed that the Ravens signal-caller has become even more special this year.
“The way he’s playing right now, he’s proving that he’s changing the narrative (about him),” said the six-time Pro Bowler on “The Facility,” citing the negative “whispers” about Jackson’s running and passing.
“Now, there’s none of that. He’s throwing the ball, he’s running the ball, everything’s at elite level. He has career-highs for everything.”
McCoy also added Jackson’s bigger role in representation, inspiring young athletes from underprivileged backgrounds that they can make it in life. He added that Jackson is “the real deal.”
“Lamar is here to stay!” exclaimed the two-time Super Bowl champion. “And I think the best thing that we don’t talk about (enough) is that any young kid growing up in the hood that (was told) that their game can’t translate (since) they wanna run first before passing, you could always get better.
“And if you don’t believe what I’m saying, look at Lamar Jackson!”
From growing up in a single-parent home in Florida to slipping as the No. 32 overall pick to becoming possibly a three-time MVP? Not bad at all.
