Line Play Showdown: Bears’ Frontline Holds Key to…
On her latest Making Monsters podcast, Taylor Doll talked with Darren Urban, who writes for the Arizona Cardinals’ official team site. He’s their version of the Bears’ Larry Mayer, so he’s as dialed in as they come to help us preview Sunday’s Chicago Bears game.
It was a fantastic conversation about a game the Bears absolutely must win. He pointed out one area the Cardinals have struggled in all year, and it’s a weakness that plays into one of Chicago’s issues, so this could be a much-needed advantage for the Bears.
“If there is anything the Cardinals aren’t doing right now, it’s rushing the passer,” Urban said on the show. “They’ve lost arguably the two best guys on the edge, and there were questions even if those guys had been healthy. They lost BJ Ojulari to an ACL in pre-season, and then they just lost Dennis Gardeck a couple weeks ago.”
Considering Chicago’s injuries up front on the o-line, Arizona’s lack of pass rush could be exactly what the Bears need.
Urban also discusses Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray, rookie wideout Marvin Harrison Jr, their struggling defense, and he shares his thoughts on Caleb Williams and the Bears’ defense.
