Lions Fans, Get Ready for a German Adventure: Detriot Likely to Play in Germany in…

The NFL announced on Wednesday morning that there will be an NFL game in Berlin, Germany for the time ever during the 2025 season. There’s a better-than-good chance that the Detroit Lions will be one of the teams playing in that game for multiple reasons.

The first one is that back in March the Lions were awarded international marketing rights to four new countries. Germany was one of them. The Lions are one of just 10 teams that have those rights.

The other teams are the Falcons, Panthers, Colts, Chiefs, Patriots, Giants, Steelers, Seahawks and Bucs. The NFC South is the one you really want to pay attention to. The Lions are slated to play an NFC South team in 2025, but that team hasn’t been picked and the location of that game hasn’t either. There’s a good chance that’s your Germany game for the Lions next year. Two of those teams did play in Germany this year though. The Giants and the Panthers.

The other thing is that the Lions have been kind of teasing this all year. They have a new German Instagram page where they have had a social media team going through Germany and talking Lions football.

We;re not going to find out for a while now, but if I were you, I’d start looking at airfare and hotel rates in Berlin.
