Had they started hotter than 1-3, they might have nabbed the number one or number two seed and home-field advantage. Instead, they were forced to travel on the road, where they met the red-hot Philadelphia Eagles.
Now, as Jalen Hurts rises to match Tom Brady in one statistic, Matthew Stafford is contemplating retirement. However, some have speculated that Matthew Stafford’s retirement consideration is not as it seems. Put simply, the retirement threat gives him leverage to request a new deal.
On the other hand, with the Rams now open to trading Cooper Kupp, Stafford theoretically might be moved too.

If Stafford exits the Rams, the question would be where he could end up. Speaking on a February 4 edition of “The Dan Patrick Show,” NFL expert Albert Breer explained why Stafford might work with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The reason is similar to why the Rams picked him up in the first place.
“Stafford’s the guy who put you over the top. I mean, we saw it. We saw it four years ago, you know, when he was available on the Rams.
“He put the Rams over the top. And the Steelers is another one where I’m thinking of those [win-now] timelines. T.J. Watt turns 31, I believe this year, 32. Minkah Fitzpatrick, I believe, is turning 29 this year,” he said.
“They’re sort of in this no man’s land with those star players where it’s like, can we fix this position fast enough so we can compete with T.J. and Minkah still at the height of their powers?
“Or do we have to look at resetting completely?” he added.
