New England’s Tackle Trouble Continue: Patriots’ Top Target Signs with Ravens
It was no secret that the New England Patriots were going to target Ravens starting tackle Ronnie Stanley heavily once the legal tampering period began on Monday.
However, Baltimore made sure that didn’t happen.
The Ravens signed Stanley to a three-year, $60 million deal on Saturday, according to multiple sources. The Ravens confirmed that the tackle was returning shortly after.
And now that means the Patriots have to pivot and look elsewhere.
Two names that come to mind outside of Stanley is Dan Moore and Cam Robinson.
Moore has spent his entire career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, being drafted in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. As for Robinson, he began his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, being selected in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Most recently, he spent a season with the Minnesota Vikings after being traded.
The Patriots could also turn towards the draft, currently holding the No. 4 overall pick. With that, LSU’s Will Campbell or Michigan’s Mason Graham are two of the top tackles in this year’s draft class.
New England’s Plan A is officially not going to work out, so it’s time to move on to Plan B.
