Pittsburgh’s X-Factor: The Key to Unlocking Ravens’ Defense: Steelers’ Secret to Success Exposed

The Pittsburgh Steelers are finally in a must-win scenario.

For whatever reason, it seems like the team has been on cruise control the past four games, dropping every one of them and leaving some to ponder if now is the time to make a big change on offense.

But if the Steelers want to knock off the Baltimore Ravens, they are going to need help from a man who made his presence felt for the first time all year the last time the two squared off:

Q. The Steelers that beat the Ravens earlier in the season and the team limping into the playoffs are two totally different outfits. Even still, everyone is 0-0 and these games have a tendency to be close. How do the Ravens make sure they don’t slip up as heavy favorites?

A. The secondary for the Ravens has to keep playing well. Kyle Hamilton is playing like one of the best defenders in football, and depth has stepped up at every level of their defense. With limited pass catching presence past George Pickens, Baltimore cannot let him beat them in the first half to swing the tide for the Steelers.

Q. Lamar Jackson has a tendency to struggle not only in the playoffs but against the Steelers. He’s 3-5 all-time against them and while he may win his 3rd MVP this season, he has to show up when it matters most. How does he do that against a team that usually has his number?

A. I think he’s got to take care of the football, first and foremost. Minkah Fitzpatrick and the secondary will be hoping for an early turnover to grab momentum. Jackson can’t allow that to happen. I’d also say that Baltimore has a clear talent advantage when it comes to the matchup on Mark Andrews. Expect him to be involved early and often.

Q. For all the noise coming out of Pittsburgh right now, a win in the playoffs against a good Ravens team as heavy dogs silences everyone. Do you think they pull off the upset, or does Baltimore and Lamar overcome their postseason woes? Let’s hear your final prediction and score

A. I’ve got to take the Ravens here. Their offense is playing too well, and the defense has stepped up over the past month of play. I just don’t think Pittsburgh can keep up at the moment.
