Quick Hits: Commanders’ Game-winning Play, Lions Rise to the Top and…
The Washington Commanders are 6-2. And it did come easy. After leading throughout the game, the Chicago Bears finally took the lead with 25 seconds remaining in the two NFC rivals’ Week 8 game. The Bears tacked on the two-point conversion to take a 15-12 lead with only two seconds remaining.
How would Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels respond? With 19 seconds and only one timeout, the Commanders’ best shot appeared to be getting into position for a game-tying field goal to force overtime.
Daniels had other plans. With two seconds left, Daniels rolled right, then came back to the left, unleashed a pass around 65 yards through the air that was tipped into the waiting hands of wide receiver Noah Brown in the end zone. The Commanders came away with the win.
