Report: Texans to Land Game-Changing Defender from Giants
With the Houston Texans trying to maximize the rookie contract window of budding star quarterback C.J. Stroud, anything and everything is on the table if it helps the Texans achieve their goal of winning a Super Bowl.
And that includes ridiculously expensive trades for elite players like the one that was suggested by Pro Football Focus’ Bradley Locker.
In an article naming “fairytale” trade ideas ahead of the Nov. 5 deadline, Locker wants to see the Texans trade for the New York Giants superstar defensive lineman, Dexter Lawrence.
The Texans would no doubt be on board with bringing Lawrence in, as would any team in the NFL. He’s arguably the best interior defensive lineman in the league without Aaron Donald around anymore and would provide a huge boost to the Texans’ defense.
But, as even Locker notes, this is not a realistic scenario. There is absolutely no way the Giants are going to move on from a 26-year-old cornerstone defender who is crucial to New York climbing out of its dark ages.
It’s too bad, because Lawrence deserves better than the dumpster fire he’s currently stuck in, but that’s just the reality of the situation.
