Rodgers Reunion: Devante Adams Shares Rodgers Photo, Sparks…
Davante Adams had a message for New York Jets fans heading into Week 10.
The star receiver posted an Instagram story urging fans to give him and quarterback Aaron Rodgers time to figure things out amid a 3-6 start to the year.
“S–t it took a second to put Rome together too,” Adams wrote in the post.
Adams and the Jets snapped a five-game losing streak when they beat the Houston Texans on Thursday. It was Adams’ best game since being traded to New York as he hauled in seven receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown, his first with Gang Green.
Adams is correct in saying that Rome wasn’t built in a day, but the Jets don’t exactly have as much time to turn things around as the Romans did. The 3-6 start means New York will need to be nearly perfect from here on out to reach the playoffs and snap a 13-year postseason drought.
A win in Week 9 is a good start, and the Jets have a somewhat manageable schedule ahead, which would be the perfect time to pick up a handful of wins. They’ll face the Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars over the next five weeks.
New York got a boost by beating Houston, 21-13, on Thursday. The Jets’ offense had a slow start but came to life in the second half as Rodgers found Adams and his favorite target this season, Garrett Wilson for a handful of big plays.
Combining that kind of offense with a defense that held Houston to just 13 points could result in a turnaround for New York.
