The Thursday starter was three-time All-Star Luis Miguel Castillo, formerly of the Cincinnati Reds, likely familiar to many baseball fans.
The Friday starter against the Giants is Luis Felipe Castillo, a 30-year-old who hasn’t pitched in MLB since 2022.
Luis F. Castillo spent the past two seasons in Japan, where he compiled a 3.01 ERA.
MLB.com shared that the Mets combination of Bobby Jones and Bobby Jones is the only previous time a pitcher combination like this started back-to-back games.
