SHOCKWAVES ACROSS THE NBA: Damian Lillard Delivers Bold Statement on Stephen Curry — Fans and Analysts React to the Unexpected Alterations

Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard has been one of the most dangerous offensive players in the NBA for many years. However, he has never quite received the kind of hype of other dynamic guards like Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry.

Watching the two players play, there are major similarities in their games. Lillard, just like Curry, is a lethal shot creator and 3-point shooting threat.

Despite his prolific shooting throughout his career, Lillard has never been able to earn the kind of respect and recognition that Curry has been given.

That is something that has eaten at Lillard throughout his career. He has pursued the Warriors’ superstar wanting what he had.

In a recent interview, Lillard opened up and sent a strong message about Curry and what he has tried to do throughout his career while comparing himself to Curry.

During an appearance with Austin Rivers on the “Eye For The Game Podcast,” Lillard opened up fully about his goal of chasing Curry.

“It was always like—Steph took off, and I was chasing,” Lillard said. “I wanted what he had. He’s winning championships, everybody’s talking about him. So I was very competitive with Steph—especially in those years where I was like, ‘No, I can do that too.’”

Lillard has made a big name for himself and has put together a strong NBA career. In the 900 career games he has played in, the 34-year-old star has averaged 25.1 points, 6.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game. He has shot 43.9% from the floor and 37.1% from the 3-point line.

Curry, on the other hand, has career averages of 24.7 points, 6.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals, while shooting 47.1% from the floor and 42.3% from the 3-point line in 1,025 career games.
