The Empire Strikes Back…Or Does It? Red Sox Confident Alex Bregman Signing Can Topple Yankees
The Boston Red Sox have finally signed the superstar slugger they needed in Alex Bregman, and with that, MLB media’s opinion of them has changed drastically. MLB insider Jon Morosi even believes the Sox could threaten their eternal rival, the New York Yankees, for control of the division.
“This changes the American League East because the Boston Red Sox now have a legitimate lineup to threaten that of the New York Yankees.”
This is definitely true, as while the Sox have upgraded their hitting, the Yankees have somewhat downgraded theirs. Losing Juan Soto to the New York Mets was a huge blow, and they haven’t signed a hitter of his caliber to replace him.
Both teams also upgraded their pitching staffs, and both have a lot of talent. They are definitely close to equal, which proves Morosi right.
The Red Sox have a worse bullpen, but they have made significant changes there, and could possibly be much better. Hopefully, the Sox make one last upgrade to their bullpen, possibly a high-impact lefty, and they could definitely be seen as good as the Yankees.
