The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed corner outfielder Teoscar Hernandez to a 3-year deal worth up to $66 million. Hernandez was perhaps the most coveted power-hitting outfielder on the free agent market, aside from Juan Soto. In 2024 with the Dodgers, he hit a career-high 33 home runs. He also hit close to .280 with runners in scoring position this year. That ability should not be overlooked in the World Series victory run for Los Angeles. As if that wasn’t enough, Hernández was also selected for his second All-Star Game, won the Home Run Derby, and collected his third Silver Slugger Award.

A Free Agent Again
Hernandez spurned a multi-year deal with the Boston Red Sox last winter. He opted to take a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The charismatic outfielder quickly became a favorite of his teammates and felt right at home. The free-swinging power-hitter prone to the strikeout began to be more patient at the plate and saw free passes more often.
