Well perhaps the most discussed potential “splash” addition for Atlanta is now off the table, as Willy Adames signed a big deal with the Giants.
If the Braves want to upgrade at shortstop, Ha-Seong Kim is the biggest name left on the free agent market and he may be in a price range the Braves are comfortable with. He does have some risk, particularly coming off of a shoulder injury. One interesting option could be Tyler Fitzgerald as a trade target from San Francisco, as he was solid for them last season with the benefit of some batter ball luck and ZiPS sees him as a league average bat with serviceable shortstop defense.
