Mike Vrabel’s return to the New England Patriots isn’t just a homecoming for him—it’s turning into a full-fledged Tennessee Titans reunion.
Since being hired as the Patriots’ head coach, Vrabel has brought along 10 former Titans staff members to Foxborough, along with former Titans front office executive Ryan Cowden.
The list of former Titans now in New England includes several key assistants from Vrabel’s time in Tennessee.
Defensive line coach Terrell Williams, defensive assistant Scott Booker, and running backs coach Tony Dews were all key figures in the Titans’ development on the field.
Former offensive coordinator Todd Downing, who was also the Jets’ passing game coordinator last season, returns to a familiar role under Vrabel.
Former Titans assistant offensive line coach Jason Houghtaling, defensive assistant Justin Hamilton, and former defensive line assistant Clint McMillan join them.
The special teams unit is representation as well, with Tom Quinn and Frank Peraino making the move. Rounding out the group is John Streicher, who served as the Titans’ coordinator of football development and has long been one of Vrabel’s most trusted analysts.
On the front office side, Ryan Cowden, who previously served as Tennessee’s Vice President of player personnel, has also landed in New England.
Cowden was instrumental in the Titans’ roster construction and even served as interim general manager before Ran Carthon’s hiring in 2023.
This mass migration highlights the deep ties Vrabel built during his time in Nashville.
With so many familiar faces, Vrabel and the Patriots are quickly shaping their staff with a clear Tennessee influence as they look to rebuild in the post-Belichick and Jerod Mayo era.
