Unbelievable: Gavin Lux and Alex Vesia’s Funny Reaction to…
The MLB world is currently buzzing with the news of Blake Snell . The two-time Cy Young Award winner shocked everyone while penning down a five-year, $182 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. This move has ignited several reactions including two hilarious responses from stars Gavin Lux and Alex Vesia.
The southpaw had signed a two-year, $62 million deal with the San Francisco Giants, mere days before the Opening Day. Despite a strong second-half performance from Snell, the team was unable to make it to the postseason as they finished with an 80-82 record in 2024.
This led to Snell opting out of his remaining deal and becoming a free agent. Though he was reported to be under the radar of several teams, the Dodgers came out as a surprise to some.
Before MLB.com‘s Mark Feinsand broke this deal, Snell took to his Instagram account and posted an image of him in a Los Angeles Dodgers uniform. This left the fans in a frenzy as many tried to wrap their head around this development.
Dodgers stars Gavin Lux and Alex Vesia would join the others in reacting to it. Vesia seemed hyped up with the move and wrote, “Ayyyyy let’s go“. On the other hand, Lux asked him whether Snell would like to play rank games together now. “Can we play ranked together now,” Lux wrote in the comments.
The Dodgers will now be the third National League West team for whom Snell will play. Before joining the Giants, Snell spend three seasons with the San Diego Padres. In this final year with them, he went 14-9 in 32 starts and had a low ERA of 2.25 which saw him being named as the 2023 NL Cy Young Award winner.
Blake Snell reportedly received huge signing bonus following deal with LA Dodgers
Blake Snell‘s move to the Los Angeles Dodgers has become the trending topic in MLB at the moment. MLB insider Jon Heyman would later reveal that the southpaw would receive a huge signing bonus after penning down this deal.
As per Heyman, Snell will receive a sum of $52 million from this deal. The 63-year-old revealed this on his X account.
Apart from that Heyman also revealed that there is no opt-out clause in this deal, meaning Snell cannot walk away from the contract like he did with the Giants. Snell will also have deferrals in this contract with the Dodgers.
Snell will join a pitching rotation that consists of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow , Tony Gonsolin , Dustin May , and Shohei Ohtani. With Clayton Kershaw expected to re-sign with the team, he could be another option for the team to choose.
After a poor start to the 2024 season, Snell finished the campaign with a 5-3 record in 20 starts. He pitched with an ERA of 3.12 while picking up 145 strikeouts. The biggest moment of him this year came in August when he threw a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds.
