Vikings Aaron Jones Injury Update and Expected…
The Minnesota Vikings are 7-2, after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars in anxiety-riddled fashion on Sunday afternoon. Now, they turn their gaze to the Tennessee Titans in week 11 . The newest injury concern, entering the week, is running back Aaron Jones.
Against the Jags, Jones took a brutal shot to his rib cage area, in the 3rd quarter. His injury outlook did not look very good, immediately after the injury. The near 30-year-old running back could be seen sprawled out on the ground in pain, before trying to walk off the field unsuccessfully.
The Minnesota Vikings new RB1 went to the locker room, but he refused to hang his helmet up for the day. Eventually, he found his way back onto the field, where he even took a few carries before calling it an afternoon. He finished week 10 with 88 yard rushing on 17 carries (5.2 YPC).

So where does that leave Aaron Jones for week 11 vs the Titans? He’ll probably be on the first injury report of the week, come Wednesday, but it’ll likely be ‘limited’, possibly even ‘full’ by the time we get to Thursday and Friday. Kevin O’Connell spoke with reporters on Monday and he seemed very optimistic about Jones’ status heading into a new week.

“He came in today feeling pretty good,” O’Connell said Monday at the team’s Eagan headquarters. “He’s just day-to-day with the ribs and … might be limited early on in the week as we kind of let him get up, back on his feet. But feeling really good about having him this week [against the Titans].”

Then, on the Kay Adams Show Monday, Aaron explained why he was carted off the EverBank Stadium field this weekend. Apparently, the Minnesota Vikings’ visitor locker room was on the complete opposite side of the stadium, from where Jones and the medical staff were located on the sideline.
So… at least least for now, it sounds like Aaron Jones will be a go on Sunday, vs a Tennessee Titans defense that currently ranks 13th in the NFL, at 117 rush yards allowed per game. Given how defenses have been playing the Vikings, with record-high split-safety coverage, an efficient run game will be increasingly important, as we get closer to the playoffs.
