The Los Angeles Dodgers certainly have a good shot of making another deep playoff run next year and maybe even repeating as World Series champions.
Los Angeles will have most of its top players back in 2025 and also already have added more. The Dodgers struck early in free agency by signing two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell and there’s still a lot of time left in the offseason to get another big deal done.
Bleacher Report’s Zachary Rymer made a list of free agents for each team to target to fill each team’s “biggest roster hole.” Los Angeles could use a boost in the bullpen so Rymer suggested San Diego Padre star Tanner Scott.
“Los Angeles Dodgers: (left-handed pitcher) Tanner Scott,” Rymer said. “The Dodgers are reportedly still in on Hernández, but there’s less of a need for him in left field now that Michael Conforto is aboard. As such, they should pivot to adding a stalwart arm for the back end of their bullpen.
“Scott is a possibility, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. He should be, given that he’s the best reliever on the market. The Dodgers should also want to sign the All-Star lefty just to make sure that nobody else gets to deploy him against Shohei Ohtani.”
Scott is projected to land a $65 million deal this offseason by Spotrac after logging a 1.75 ERA in 72 appearances in 2024 with the Padres and Miami Marlins. If the Dodgers can land him, it would be the best move for the bullpen.
